Position Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on UPS systems including battery testing, cleaning, calibration, and component inspections according to manufacturer specifications and maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose and repair UPS system failures including power modules, control systems, bypass switches, and battery systems. Replace defective components and perform system testing.
- Install new UPS systems and battery banks including mechanical installation, electrical connections, and system commissioning. Configure control parameters and perform acceptance testing.
- Maintain detailed service records and prepare comprehensive reports on equipment condition and recommendations. Update customer equipment databases and maintenance schedules.
- Provide technical support and training to customer personnel on UPS operation, alarm response, and basic maintenance procedures.
- Support emergency service calls for UPS system failures and critical power issues. Participate in on-call rotation as required.
- Work with sales and engineering teams to assess customer power protection needs and recommend system upgrades or replacements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in electrical/electronic technology preferred. 2+ years of experience with UPS systems, power electronics, or electrical equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of UPS system operation, battery systems, and power quality concepts. Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience with electrical test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and battery analyzers. Understanding of electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to obtain security clearances for critical facility access.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently. Customer service orientation and professional communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift battery units up to 70 pounds with assistance and equipment up to 35 pounds independently.
- Work in data centers, industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure environments.
- Stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Manual dexterity for electrical connections and precision adjustments.

These screenings are conducted once, prior to hire, and are not part of a recurring or annual testing program. However, employees remain subject to Reasonable Suspicion and Post-Accident drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy.
